Well it was in a slide, but with the little metal thing levitating 
between the person's fingers, is called diamagnetically stabilized 
levitation. You can find more info about it here:

There was also a gadget mentioned called a Levitron 
(http://www.geocities.com/dsligar.geo/levitron.html) that levitates 
because its spinning.
