There's also a New York-based HP group on the LiveJournal weblogging
community: http://www.livejournal.com/community/hp_newyork.  It's
admittedly been fairly quiet recently, but it has a fairly broad core of
older fans that I'm sure would be happy to help you out.

Otherwise, I'm inclined to agree with Sabs about just arranging
something.  Since there are so many fans going to so many different
bookstores next Friday night, there isn't really any one preplanned core
of people in the city.
