Porter is a dark-brown bitter beer, according to OLADoCE. Presumably
served warm, in accordance with British tradition. Could someone
please explain Bread&Pullit, btw? (Not the pun - tht I understood, I
believe).

Best regards
Christian Stubø

P.S. A friend of mine told me of a new way to serve codfish-tongue:
Take a large casserole, fill it with layers of tongues and cabbage
(starting with tongues, topping with cabbage), add pepper and salt in
accordance to taste. Fill the pot 3/4 full of water. Let boil for
four hours. Serve! My friend's grandmother had served it to him the
day before he visited - he still felt a bit queasy.
