And what about foreigners who mispronounce because they only know the 
word in written form? I still remember my embarrassment at realizing 
that relatives is NOT pronounced re-LAY-tives. It happens a lot to me 
 - there are many words I know but don't really know how to 
pronounce. (well, at least, thanks to this group, I've learnt how to 
pronounce epitome. ;-) )
