I personally thought that the second book was great - particularly 
the transcript of a certain interview she does.  (Although there is 
one incident, set overseas, which is pretty pointless - I won't say 
anymore - spoiler).

I reread them again, since I got married, to see if I was developing 
a "smug marrried" POV.  I'm glad to say that I haven't (not yet, 
anyway!)
