Hi --
Gee Catherine -- you've made me look silly. *I'm* the one who told
Carole that Brits wouldn't use patio/grill, Coke as a generic term for
all carbonated beverages or margaritas. <g> Don't I feel stupid now!!
Well .... my husband & I were both just positive that the Brits don't
refer to it as Coke, but as fellow-Texan Amanda noted, very cool if
true. Referring to all soft drinks as "Coke" is a uniquely Texan thing
in the US (I think ... Amanda thinks so too). I am bowled over that the
Texans have something like that in common with the Brits.
Margaritas aren't all that common in the UK though, are they? Maybe
it's just that I tend to avoid margaritas when outside the great state
of Texas (not trusting that anyone can brew up a decent marg anymore
than they can make a decent salsa ....)
