"Sussex ginger ale is quite good! I'm prone to motion sickness, and I
use a good bottle of ginger ale to prevent it. I don't take Gravol -
it may stop the sickness but it also has the effect of making me feel
I'm stoned. I alternate between very giddy and asleep, with nothing in
between. So ginger ale it is."

As far as big brands of ginger beer go, I've always found the big
names to be rather tasteless. Canada Dry especially, widely
available in the UK, but I can discern barely a taste of ginger
whenever I drink it. There are a large number of small independent
brands in Britain that are very hot indeed, and much nicer. But then
I like spicy food - some people don't.

Any list-Brits remember one brand that came in fake stone bottles? I
have no recollection what it was called. I had a bottle on holiday
in Norfolk one year when I was 8 or 9, and it was too hot to drink.
My family's favourite brand is called 'Old Jamaica'

"My mother and I are now watching Survivor together. We high-fived
each other when Jerri was voted off, and was relieved last night when
it was Amber. I was relieved because the editing at the beginning of
the show suggested there was only room for one cute young female on
the show now, and we like Elizabeth so much better. My mother started
crying during the Michael gets burned episode because Elizabeth was
crying, and Mom can't bear to watch Elizabeth cry.

I did watch Big Brother last year - because it was on each night and
Survivor wasn't. It was a poor man's substitute. I started phoning to
get people voted out because of how irritating they were. Karen should
have been told not to chew gum on TV! "Chicken Man" George got
offensive - he'd accidentally killed his best friend on a hunting
trip, and then used ketchup to simulate gunshot wounds on TV."

Interesting how different it is here. In the UK, Big Brother was an
awesome success, the final episodes were drawing 9 million viewers
(which is very good indeed in the UK), the website was getting
hundreds of thousands of hits a day during the Nasty Nick debacle. I
was a very avid viewer, and I took part in the phone votes too.
Anyway, we haven't had Survivor yet, though I heard somewhere we're
making a version with an Australian network.

"I'm sorry I missed The Mole though. I watched the final episode and
realized that I missed out on something intriguing."

You had The Mole Stateside?? Our version was absolute rubbish; just
a load of people chasing round the Channel Islands - with wobbly
camerawork. I *hate* wobbly camerawork.
