Maybe I just played Clue way too much as a youth, but I didn't find 
the Mystery at Hogwarts game difficult at all, and neither did my 
7yo. (no offense intended regarding your 8yo...) We play it a lot and 
enjoy it.

He does like the trivia game better though because he gets to ask the 
questions and laugh when mom or dad are wrong.  :-)
