"Perhaps there's more in a name than Shakespeare realized."
"'Tis but thy name that is thy enemy.
Thou art thyself, though not a Montague.
What's Montague? It is not hand, nor foot,
Nor arm, nor face, nor any other part
Belonging to a man. O, be some other name!
What's in a name? That which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet.
So Romeo would, were he not Romeo called,
Retain that dear perfection which he owes
Without that title. Romeo, doff thy name,
And for thy name- which is no part of thee-
Take all myself."
(Juliet, Shakespeare's 'Romeo and Juliet', Act 2, Scene 1)
--I think Ebony that you are quite right about that. Shakespeare may
be proved wholly wrong on this account. I for one found my profile to
be spot on (though not enought to order a copy for 40 something
dollars) ;-) Then again Hermione's profile also seemed to fit me to a
tee...I knew I liked that girl!
However if our name does affect who we become...then it still begs
the question why did dear Remus's parents ever name him such? Perhaps
they were latin scholars with an affinity for large ferocious canines
and a fancy for tempting fate?
Several people have commented saying that it seemed to fit them or
didn't fit them. I'd be interested to know what others thought.
As for the Keirsey test, I too am an Idealist. There seem to be a lot
of those around here, eh?
(The funniest thing is that I've never had a test yet to say that I
was completely gullible for spending time, and putting faith in,
though not necessarily, all those crazy internet tests...)
