I was catching up on the messages on the main list and noticed the
erm...interesting thread on "Harry Potter and the Bible".
I wanted to mention that I found Amy expressed my own feelings quite
well. (That the occult, which is BTW is quite an overly misused term,
is not necessarily evil.)
Anyway I remembered when someone posted a link to a site claiming
Harry Potter promoted devil worship and that his scar was really a
"satanic S". It had a page of other satanic symbols (which was rather
hilarious). One of these was a pyramid with an eye on top. It said
this was a symbol of the occult. I really laughed out loud at that,
because this same picture is used on the $1 bill. Above it is the
latin "Annuit Coeptis" (I think) which means "God has smiled on our
Undertaking". The eye at the top is not something obscure and occult,
but a symbol of God, and the ideal that the nation was founded on
faith. I'm sure however they don't mind handling money!
Just shows you what type of people we're dealing with eh?
I really hope I got all the facts correct because if not I'll look
REALLY stupid...
