Those darn Fundamentalists, what will they think of next?

Scott, it just goes to show that whatever crazy idea you can dream up,
someone somewhere will believe it:

There is a website detailing how the symbolism on the $1 bill proves
that we are living in the U.S.A. (Unified Satanic Alliance). I kid
you not. This nifty essay also proves that the Trinity is Satanic by
this logic:

Equilateral triangles are Satanic symbols.
   60 degrees-60 degrees-60 degrees
     in numerology 60= 6 + 0 = 6
   yielding 6 - 6 - 6
The trinity is "the religious edification of the equilateral
triangle." Huh?

It also rants quite a bit about all the 13s on the dollar bill; there
are 13 leaves on the olive branches the eagle is holding, 13 arrows
in its claw, etc. Funny, I always thought that was 'cause of the 13
original colonies.

Here's the website:

I thought of another example of this stuff from Real Life. When I was
in high school a woman sat down next to me on the bus and asked me,
with the kind of concern in her voice one usually associates with
funerals, whether I knew that the peace sign I was wearing was the
Sign of the Broken Cross. I've heard that one a lot since, usually
from sources who also think the A-bomb was a gift of God to the
American people and that Reagan should be made St. Ronald, so
naturally they really do think the peace movement is Satanic (it was
underwritten by the USSR, don't you know. How come I never got any of
that funding?). You can always manipulate symbols to make them say
what you already believe . . .
