"But the book was better!"

I read To Kill a Mockingbird in the 5th or 6th grade and thought it
was lovely. Then my mom rented it when I had my wisdom teeth
taken out and said "This is one of my all-time favorite movies. I'd
like you to watch it." To this day when I watch that movie, I still
cry when Scout sees Boo in the corner of the room and says in
that so sweet voice "Hey, Boo.".

That movie is truly an exception to the rule, I do believe. I also very
much enjoyed the movie for Hamlet (but I'm a huge Brannagh fan
so I may be a bit biased but it was TRULY better than Mel
Gibson's, which I enjoyed as well). And I always thought the 1968
version of Romeo and Juliet was fabulous, too. But it seems that
Shakespeare is one of those authors that obviously can be put
straight on screen with very little effort to change it.

But, then there are books that should have NEVER been made into
a movie, or at least into the movie version that was produced. Like
I said before, the movie version of Harriet The Spy made me cry, I
was so angry and upset. And the movie version of Less Than Zero
was REALLY bad. But I know people who loved both of them AND
had read the original book. So.....opinions, opinions, opinions....

Like I said before, I'm VERY excited about seeing the Potter movie.
But I'm also TERRIFIED out of my mind. :-)

Wow....my rambling is getting bad lately. Sorry 'bout that.

Oh, the thrill of the chase as I soar through the air
With the Snitch up ahead and the wind in my hair
As I draw ever closer, the crowd gives a shout
But then comes a Bludger and I am knocked out.
