Dear Christian, 

THAT is a beautiful piece of writing, howsoever you wrote it. The sad 
answer to your question is that very few Americans punch holes in 
anything anymore. We prefer to get in our overlarge cars and drive to 
Staples, where a nameless paper conglomerate has pre-punched holes 
for us. I have a beautifully made three-hole punch from my father, 
but in my house we use it mostly to make confetti on rainy days.
