Pumpkin Beer!?

My local acquaintance Karl Lembke has gotten into brewing beer in 
his living room, and I have found that it all tastes like beer. 
Even if he brings over his newest batch of apricot beer, or 
lavender beer (with the herb, not the color), or raisin beer, 
it always tastes like beer rather than like the stuff it 
was made out of.
