Rachel, we're so relieved that you weren't hurt,  And of course this is an 
important time of year to be especially careful.  I myself have TWICE been a 
passenger in cars that had Christmas-season  head-on collisions with drunk 
drivers.

I have TWICE seen car doors pop open, and a young child go flying out, on the 
streets of Boston.  In one case, the driver was making a U-turn in the middle 
of a traffic intersection.  She just scooped up the child and drove away, 
without checking whether he was hurt.  My stomach still churns at the 
thought.
