It's an ice-cream type thing, generally with random mixed fruit 
(peaches and things I think), and cream as well, served in a very 
tall glass - which looks even-more-huge if you are only eleven...

knickerbockers were also something worn by small boys in victorian 
times... I think... So I'm not sure why the ice-cream is named so.
