You're correct! <sigh> that's the problem when you resist 
metrification....you can get things mixed up!

Anyhoo, I looked through some of my cookbooks. It seems the old copy 
of Julia Child's "Mastering the Art of French Cooking" is the only 
book with a really good chapter about conversions and even the gas 
mark problem. Newer cookbooks seem to skip over these sections.
