The reason I thought of what follows is that every time I start really
being tired of the Really High, Noble Speech, I start wanting Aragorn to
at least KISS Arwen or something. Which brings me to this
recommendation--

Read the trilogy by Guy Gavriel Kay. The first is "The Summer Tree,"
which should get you started. (I think the whole trilogy is The Fionavar
Tapestry or something, but I am sure of the author and first book
title.) This is a wonderful series (all Kay's stuff is like this), the
kind of book that you look at when you're done, and you can't believe
it's not a thicker book, there was so *much* in there! It's, to my mind,
as rich as LOTR, but with sex. (By that, it includes physical
relationships in the wide range of interactions presented--it's not
R-rated or anything.)

It's a good option for those panting for anything to pass the time until
book 5 comes out, too.
