Interesting that the word 'jarl' in England had already deteriorated 
even before it was in England (presumably while it was in the 
Danelaw).

I probably was thinking of Denmark. Sorry.

About "Lord Newton": in most of USA, one is allowed to call oneself 
by ANY name as long as one does not intend fraud.
