That's something that puzzles me a little too. I wonder if it's going off
the *original* topic that people mean, perhaps? I'm not sure, but sometimes
it seems that's why.

I love the main list, but it seems that by the time I get to my mail,
sometimes the things I would have said have already been said by someone
else, so I don't post often there. I do when I've got something to say that
might not have been said before, naturally. But here I can often find
something to say to posts, so I am very chatty here.

I love to read and think about what's on the main list as much as I like to
read and think about what's talked about on here.
