I have students who are 19 and who probably read at a third grade 
level.

We could really really use you at my school up in the Bronx.

But seriously, I am also a believer in the public school system.  I 
think the system sucks and is failing many many students, but I think 
there is so much we can do with it.  Maybe I should run for office one 
day so I can spout all the ideas I have about public education... but 
I hate politics, so there you go.
