You're kidding. They actually told you this? That is
INSANE!!!!!!!!!!
(it's also the reason Ginger's starting preschool in the fall... but
that's beside the point)
I suppose I could tell you to just go back to the kindergarten (I
have to admit, here, it's weird thinking about being accepted to
kindergarten... it's mandatory here in California, if not in the
entire U.S.) and tell these idiots in a nice, pleading, voice that
Marten isn't getting enough "intellectual stimulation" at home, and
you know that he would be at a much greater advantage educationally if
he went to this kindergarten, and you know that the other children he
would interact with would help him develop better social skills, blah
blah blah. But my gut says if they are going to look down on you for
being a full-time Mom (which I am, too), then who the hell cares what
they think, they can forget about your brilliant child going to THEIR
school, and you'll tell every other working mother you know that
they're too full to accept new children, and not tell them about the
"Mummy wants time to herself" bit.
Whew, that was a run-on sentence, wasn't it? Sorry. What a horrible
place. I agree with Mary Ann... it's run by death eaters.
Jen (ultrasound is in 2 hours! Any last minute bets as to boy/girl??)
ps. Your husband needs a kick in the pants. er, trousers, for you UK
English speakers. ;) Not cleaning up vomit. ARGH! When Ginger was
sick last time (in the middle of the night, of course), he tried to
tell me he had to work early, but I didn't let him get away with it.
I just yelled down the hallway "Okay, if you want both me and Ginger
coming to bed with you covered in vomit and crying, you go ahead and
stay there... we'll be in in a few minutes." He was mad, but in her
room with a towel in about 15 seconds. He forgot clean clothes for
me, but I'll overlook that one. ;)
