Thankfully, I've been able to keep my original mental images for the most part.  The only time I really had a problem with it was when I tried to read GoF right after seeing the movie for the second time.  I couldn't get Daniel, Emma, and Rupert out of my head.  It was so disturbing that I had to stop reading.  The next day, though, I was fine.

The funny thing is, I was actually looking forward to having a definite picture of some of the settings that were a bit vague in my mind.  The only one that's stuck with me at all is the Hogwarts Express interior.  I suppose I've been living with my own images for so long that they overrode the new input.
