Nah, I'm going to surrender and meekly pay the ticket.  

How could I possibly justify the time, effort and aggravation to go 
contest a $50 ticket?  I'd probably get a parking ticket while I was 
down there in court.  

No, I'll simply re-double my efforts not to *ever* visit the 
District.  It's the only defense I have.
