I wouldn't quite be in the fourth camp, although I get where you're coming
from. I've never understood the supposed hotness that is Sirius Black. Maybe
it's because I don't like scruffy men? Aragorn from LOTR doesn't do much for
me either. I like Lupin, but not to the point that I think he's sexy. And
Snape...well, I don't know what to think about old Snape. I think we don't
know all there is to know about him (duh!) and am content to wait for the
remaining books to make up my mind. But I don't find him sexy either.
I, personally, find Percy and Oliver much more appealing. And the Oliver I'm
referring to is the canon Oliver, not the movie Oliver who has inspired
scads of fangirls (and fanboys) to write swoonily about him. *grin* Course,
those two are much closer to my age in the canon. And if we were to take
Harry's yearmates ages right now, in 2002, they would practically BE the
same age as me. Although, I fear, I still think of them as young teenagers
so I don't do any swooning over them. Not that I do much swooning anyways
but I have my moments.
Oddly (or maybe not?) enough, I didn't think about the characters' "sex
appeal" until I stumbled into the fandom. Of course, I never even considered
that Draco could possibly be redeemed, Neville just might have a memory
charm on him or that Snape may be a bat animagus. And lo, how the fandom
changes perceptions...
