The Prydain Chronicles are undoubtedly my favorite YA fantasy books of

Yes! I love these books. I would have to say they are also in my Top Favorite Books list as well.
But if you are looking for a book with endearing characters, that elusive blend of adventure and humor and depth, some wonderful themes, and an author that is so personable that you will feel like he's your long lost friend just from reading the Author's Note, then you will find all of this in The Prydain Chronicles.>>
Oh definitely. All the characters are wonderful and even Gurgi, Prydain's equivalent of Dobby, I guess you could call him, didn't even really get on my nerves. And about Lloyd Alexander, yes--I love reading his Author's Notes. It feels like he's speaking directly to you and he gives you some info on the story (not a lot but it's there) and he comes of as one of the nicest people.
Also, anyone that has seen The Black Cauldron movie by Disney should
understand that this movie, though good and the last bit of "vintage
Disney" in existence, uses a combined and severely butchered version
of the plots of book one and two. Many characters are heavily altered, combined, or eliminated.>>
Yup. It is a good movie, and I too was going to say that LA said the movie is good, but only if taken separate from the books. For a Disney movie, it's cute, and if you like the movie, then you will probably like the books.
READ THESE BOOKS. Trust me.>>
And if you don't trust Luke, trust me. ;) Read them!
The websites on it are scant and have been around since the last time I went looking for Prydain Chronicles stuff on the Internet a few years ago, with nary an update in sight (though I did find a new(er) page with some very cool Prydain artwork!).>>
I am also a bit disappointed on the lack of websites about these books. Luke, which site did you find the artwork on? I have one bookmarked (at home alas!) but I think the man's name was Justin Kuntz or something. Was that it?
There are only a couple Yahoo! Groups dedicated to Prydain Chronicles discussion, both of which are very small, and seemingly defunct--no new messages for a very long time.>>
Yup. I am on one and haven't heard from anybody in the longest time.
So I was wondering what degree of interest there would be in a new Prydain Chronicles discussion group, founded with as many HPfGU members as I can con into joining.>>>
You won't have to con me. :) Count me in!
