The only books I've bought by British chefs/cooks have been Rick 
Stein's Fruits of the Sea (fish cookery), The Fat Ladies last book, 
and Gary Rhodes' Rhodes around Britain. I've been happy with them so 
far: the recipes I've tried work. Some of them have rather elaborate 
recipes though.
