Well, my sources are limited, and I was wondering if

{grin}  Understood.  One of my colleagues is from
Sydney, and another is from London.  The "discussions"
that break out between them make other forms of
academic politcs weak by comparison.

It was a milestone in many respects, not the least of
which was that it was the battle that started the
reputation of the ANZAC troops as being tough
customers.  FWIW, while I was in the US Army, those
Australians that I met in SE Asia deserved and
enhanced that reputaion.
