Whatever. It will be nice for all of us on this list who get a chance to
meet you, host you or harass you when you make it to the US. When is your
trip?
Not sure how convenient it is, but the train is supposed to be a very
inexpensive way to get around. It's cheaper for me to fly to France than
it is to fly five hours north. Plane travel within the US, unless you're
going to a major destination, tends to be pricey. Most annoying when you
don't want to go to NYC but you do want to go to say Albany. If you do opt
to fly, make sure you get quotes from all of the airports that are sort of
in the area. I know that my rates vary wildly between SFO, OAK, SJO and
SAC. None of them are convenient when you live on the coast but I have a
choice of inconvenient airports.
(Although we're out of the way for just about anything except Mendocino
Village, chez Bray et Keegan does offer cat-free accommodations. We have
massive dogs instead!)
BTW: The Raiders won on Saturday!!! Much happiness. The 49ers lost. The
spousal unit is in the depths of despair. Even two days of actual sunshine
during our rainy winter have not been enough to offset the loss.
Is anyone going to be at Worldcon this August? It's in San Jose (Con Jose
is the snappy name). We're toying with going for a day after doing the
Pennsic thang in Pennsylvania. Heck, if anyone is planning on that, look
us up in the merchant area. I'm crispy on the SCA thing and would be
thrilled to talk to a list member.
