Lee Greenwood won the CMA (Country Music Awards) Best Male Vocalist a
couple of times in the 1980s. I know that because in those days I had
a roommate who tuned the radio to a C&W station. We agreed on hating
Lee Greenwood -- I know nothing about him as a person, but his
singing style was crooning, not country, and he had a big hit with
a totally cliched and badly orchestrated song "God Bless the USA"
that he wrote himself.
