Lapskaus (or Labskaus, depending on nationality)

Hmm..

In Norway we have a dish called lapskaus, which is basically a stew 
made with chunks of potatoes, turnips, carrots, meat (normally of ox, 
and yes - it is real meat; I have watched my mother make it), and 
often sausage (Norwegian sausages are subject to legislation about 
what may and may not be used in making it).  I don't see how that can 
rate very high on the icky-factor, unless you think all stews are 
icky?  There is something called brown lapskaus, but it is brown only 
because it is made with gravy.
