All these names are directly or indirectly related to teeth-
Caries
Chopper
Buck
Dentil
Fang
Gomphosis
Gumboil
Odonto
Onlay
Alveolus
or you could could with something more 'black' related like Midnight
or Blackie.
Aardwolf - black dog-like animal
Azov - a section of the Black Sea
Boccaccio - (Bo-ka-chee-o) author who wrote about the Black Death
Bohea - (Bo-hee) black tea
Bryony - medicinal black berries
Bugbane - black cohosh plant - medicinal
Cinereous - black ash
Circassia - historical region near the Black Sea
Gyrfalcon - large black arctic falcon
Keokuk - Black Hawk indian
Merlin - small dark colored falcon with black stripes on it's tail
Pishogue - (Irish)(Pi-shoge) Black magic; sorcery. or An evil spell;
an incantation.
Raven - large black bird
Actually RAVEN seems like a good name. Ravens are frequently
associated with magic.
Pishogue, an Irish word for Black Magic, is kind of cool. It would be
some obscure word that only Hermione would know. (pronounced with
short 'I' and long 'O'.)
Just some thoughts.
