Hi all, I am new to the group.  I am also dressing up as a Hogwarts 
student for Halloween!  I just wanted to let you guys know that I 
ordered an Adult Small Black "Cat" Robe from TheWandShop and I was 
very disappointed when I received it.  The robe was PAPER THIN 
(although the site says that it would be lined) and the sleeves were a 
bit short for my taste and I hate to say this, but the Harry Potter 
robes you find on the shelves during Halloween look better!  I 
returned it right away and thewandmaker graciously refunded me my 
$38.00.  I found out it would be best to make my own robe.  I am not 
using a pattern though (those look a bit complicated for me LOL).  
Instead, I am modeling the robe from the Halloween costume children's 
version (Large) and making it longer using a thick, black canvas type 
of material.  That way, I wouldn't have to line it and it would double 
as a light "coat" for a cold night. :)  Oh yeah, and I am also adding 
a hood and a patch. :)  I also found this authentic looking dark metal 
 cloak clasp from some Renaissance website for only $2.50!  All I need 
now are knee socks and Mary Jane shoes and I'm all set.  I have the 
sweater (which I hand embroidered--my hands are killin' me), pleated 
skirt & ties.

Are any of you from CA?  We should all get together and dress up for 
the premiere! :)
