I know, I know, I am late for all the costume talk, but Alora has
inspired me to make a costume so she won't be the sole person in the
DFW area to go to the movie as a Hogwart's girl...

So, now that I have the pattern and borrowed a sewing machine, what
fabric should I use to make this robe?

If you look, well actually study the CoS poster book closely, the
picture of Ron with his broken wand has a close up to the texture. It
looks like a loose weave wool with a little felting. So, is the
fabric wool? I love the weight of the robes in the movie, so is it
best to use just wool, or would a poly-blend suiting fabric also work
with some satisfaction?

I know I am being *extremely* picky, but I want this to look nice and
last for another six movies premiers, the next three books waiting
lines, and the odd need to dress Potter style.

Also, it is *IMPOSSIBLE* to find a gray pleated skirt. Grrrrr.
Seems, I will be making one of those as well. Any suggestions?

This is so much fun though. Found gray knees socks and Black Mary
Janes yesterday. :) They really nail down that skirt-girl look.

Seems, though, I need to rethink my opinions of costumed Star Wars and
Star Trek fans. They don't seem so insane anymore. :)
