How to post a web link properly

Well this is about as off topic as you can get, but it's something
that really annoys me, although I'm sure it's something most people
aren't aware of.
When you post a web link (Link to a web page) that extends beyond the
margin or 'wrap' column, part of the link will be cut off, and that
means anyone selecting that link will get an error. The link won't be
valid because part of it is missing.
example:
http://support.microsoft.com/support/windows/Topics/Hardware/hwddresctr.asp?LN=EN-US&SD=gn&FR=0
To fix this, you need to UNCHECK the box above the send button that says-
[ ] Wrap message text
If I am correct, the link above should visually wrap but it won't have
a line feed inserted in it and the link will stay whole and workable.
If I'm wrong then the moderators will finish tying that rope into a
hangman's noose and come looking for me.
In all the HPFGU groups we get a lot of links to interview, stories,
photos, reference material, etc. The problem is, most of them don't
work for the reason I have pointed out above.
An alternate solution when you come across a broke link is to cut and
paste it into a text editor and remove the line breaks so it is one
long continuous line, then cut and paste it back into the address line
of your web browser.
Just something to think about.
