He also kept himself from a great experience.  Isn't it our 
collective worst nightmare that we'll die before reading the last 
word of Book 7?  (Well, the second-to-last word.  We know the last 
one.  ;-) )  Imagine inflicting that on oneself deliberately!

But of course, when one arrives at the pearly gates, one is handed a 
pile of all seven books (in heaven, they've been written already) and 
shown to a lovely pillowy cloud in a cozy corner, there to read to
