Poor Joanne.

Actually, Diane Rehm is a highly respected interviewer who has been
on the air since 1979 and her show has gotten consistently high
ratings on NPR for a long time. She began to suffer from a
neurological disorder called spasmodic dysphoria in the 90's. It's
a rare condition that affects the voice and because she receives
treatment at Johns Hopkins every three weeks, she has been able to
continue her career, albeit somewhat impared.
I'm sure you didn't mean to be unkind in your remarks, but I thought
that you ought to know the story behind the speech impairment.
Jo Serenadust, who thinks that Diane Rehm also handles herself with
grace and is a great lady.
