It seems to be a variant of geek code, a hidden system for geeks to 
impart other geeks with knowledge of their knowledge, interests, and 
achievements, though there are clues in this that it is modified to 
suit Harry Potter geeks particularly.  The secret to understanding 
this method of conveying information is contained in a tome kept on 
the Mountain of Despair, beyond the River of Fire, guarded by the 
Dragons of Eternity.
