Ah, the Geek Codes.  The original was a shorthand way for hackers 
(*not* crackers, who are a different and lesser breed of geek) to let 
each other know about their expertise and experience in different 
items of hacker culture.

As the online community expanded, other geek codes began appearing 
that were of more specific relevance to the online communities they 
were being used in.  An example would be the Personal Growth Geek 
Code, of which I am rather fond:

Other ones have sprung up in recent years that are even more 
specific, relating to certain fandoms.
