Sorry, I should've put those up to when I referred to them. Here is the
King James Version, Genesis 19:4-5

4 But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom,
compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every
quarter:
5 And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which
came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them.

The words "know them" don't mean they want to meet them. The New
International Version is of course more modern English and says it quite
bluntly. Verse 4 and in NIV:

4 Before they had gone to bed, all the men from every part of the city of
Sodom-both young and old-surrounded the house.
5 They called to Lot, "Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring
them out to us so that we can have sex with them."

This is followed, of course, by Lot offering the men his two virgin
daughters, who they had no interest in.
