Asexual? (was Question about New Testament)

Gosh, sex and the Bible in one thread!  How could I have let it go so 
long?  <eg>

This seems logical, but also misses the basic point that an insistence 
on referring to God in male terms contradicts the assertion that God 
is purely spiritual.  Which is it?  Body that takes male form (or 
female, or both, or neither), or spirit that is beyond such 
categories?

It seems to me that one has to choose, unless one thinks that there 
are such things as male and female spiritual beings, God being chief 
among the former.
