Tara Lipinski was *not* at the Salt Lake Olympics, as she turned pro
shortly after the Nagano Olympics, where, IMO, she did rob Michelle
of the gold. At that time she did not have the artistic level she
does now (although I still can't stand her!) but her edges and
extensions just were not there in '98.
That said, Sarah Hughes totally deserved her unexpected gold in Salt
Lake. I felt bad for Michelle's poor skate,but her loss of gold
wasn't as wrenching as 4 years earlier.
