When I was in London a few years ago, a friend asked me if I wanted
a "muffin". I said yes, think of a cupcake, a scone-like thing.
What she brought out of the kitchen was exactly like the "English
muffin" I used to buy in the supermarket. ("Thomas's" is the only
brand you should buy, btw.)
