I forgot that I shouldn't post to Yahoo!Groups from Opera - sorry 
about that.  I also thought I'd point out that the LJ-post I linked 
to mainly looks at things in a 1920-perspective - so it includes the 
Order of St Patrick, which went into effective abeyance in 1922, but 
omits the George Cross (ranking second only to the Victoria Cross) 
and George Medal, which were created in 1940.
