Lynn:
I grew up knowing that a thong was a rubber flip
flop sandal, that's what we always called them
ourselves. But then, if there was thong
underwear back then, it was strictly a backroom,
under-the-counter kind of thing. I think it was
sometime in the 90s when I had to force myself to
stop calling them thongs and start calling them
flip flops otherwise people didn't know what I
was talking about.
