   I hesitate to even get into the Ebonics discussion, but, well, 
here goes:  I live in Mobile, Alabama and one thing I hear all the 
time is "Where do you stay at?". This is as opposed to me asking 
someone "Where do you live?".  And that phrasing really makes sense 
to me, because, if you think about it, you live wherever you are at 
the moment.  I mean, you're living all the time, unless you're a 
vampire or something, right?  But if you say "Where does she stay?" 
it pretty much means exactly what it says.
