You should perhaps specify if this is Celsius (centigrade) or 
Fahrenheit degrees (the UK uses Celsius degrees nowadays, I 
believe).  -10 degrees Celsius equals +14 degrees Fahrenheit; -10 
degrees Fahrenheit equals roughly -23.3 degrees Celsius.
