This book is actually about three years old - I remember buying it in my
first year in the ho fandom, when I was working on an Austen-inspired
piece of hp fanfic (homage, on astronomytower.org).
The book is actually very faithful to Austen in terms of writing style
and the characterizations are as on-point as possible. But some of the
reviewers at Amazon clearly can't take a joke any better than Byatt,
but then again, my feeling is, anything that irks her has *got* to be
good.
