Never got a classroom party - well, I never had a birthday party at all. Not once. 
And that *did* make me bitter. (-8

I'm just glad my birthday was in the summer (January 20th - second last week of 
the summer holidays here in Australia) otherwise I might have had to face the real 
reason I didn't get one - as it was the fact that it was the school holidays was a 
convenient excuse that worked until I was 12 or so.
