Pedro *does* have an ego, but any pitcher would say "let me stay 
in."  The reason the manager is in charge and not the pitchers is 
supposed to be that he has better judgment.  However, Grady Little's 
wasn't so hot the other night, was it?  He had a couple of steady 
guys in the bullpen, miraculously, and didn't use them; he knew, or 
ought to have known, that Pedro's fizz flattens after 95 pitches, but 
didn't act on it.  As my sister says, I hope he and Dusty Baker enjoy 
sitting on the sofa together, watching the Series.
